Checker, Betty & Kimba

As an ALX SE learner, three tools that you will encounter very often are Checker, Betty and Kimba. Here's what you need to know about them before you start your program:

Checker

At ALX SE, the Checker is the tool that checks your submissions and grades you accordingly. The checker can give you feedback on what you did wrong if you end up not scoring everything. But most times the Checker's feedback is only available after your first deadline.

Betty

Betty is a tool used for code checking and formatting (in C programming). It helps to ensure code consistency, readability, and adherence to industry standards.

Betty checks code for common errors and issues, such as indentation, variable naming, and function length, and provides feedback to the user on how to improve their code.

It is used by ALX SE to help the learners to develop good coding practices and learn from the feedback provided by the tool.

You will receive detailed instructions on the standards that Betty checks for and must make sure that your code meets those standards.

What is Kimba

Kimba is ALX SE's plagiarism detection tool that checks learners' project submissions for plagiarism. We have a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism, and any learner caught plagiarizing will be penalized for that project.

If caught for plagiarism on a second occasion, the learner will be expelled from the program.
